Miss Sunderland 2011 &
Mr North East 2011

Big bands, bold colour’s and certainly vast amounts of glamour! Rainton Meadows Arena was host to Miss Sunderland 2011, this Vegas inspired event with a ‘big name’ headlining acts and celebrity judges certainly wowed its audiences with stilt walkers, dancers in martini glasses and an overall huge production. Philippa Attle was crowned Miss Sunderland 2011 and Nathaniel Smith was the first ever contestant to be crowned Mr. Northeast. The event raised £13,500 for Grace House North East Children’s Hospice.

Miss Northumberland 2011

The first Miss Northumberland pageant in history, The search for natural beauties in the north east came to its grand finale and Northumbrian sweetheart Laura hickey was given the crown of Miss Northumberland 2011. Collaboratively, Miss Sunderland and Miss Northumberland 2011 raised over £4,000 for Grace House Children’s Hospice.

Sunderland Retail Awards 2011

This award ceremony was the first of its kind to be held in The Bridges together with Sunderland City Council to reward hard work within retail and to recognise Sunderland’s prosperity within the recession. One Voice Productions event managed the event and attendees were stunned to see the Bridges shopping centre transformed in to a glamorous awards ceremony.

Miss Sunderland 2010

In early 2010 heats were held around some of Sunderland’s trendiest bars in the search for the new Miss Sunderland 2010. Narrowed down from hundreds of girls, the final 24 contestants faced a panel of judges including Real Radio’s Ben and Kelly, Sunderland Footballer David Meylor, North East boxing legend Tony Jeffries and X Factor sensation Chico! After strutting their stuff in 4 different rounds, the judges came to that all important final decision of which stunning contestant would be crowned Miss Sunderland 2010.

The final three contestants were Kimberley Peacock, Lauren Wilkinson and the current reigning Miss Sunderland 2010 Tamzin Cummings. The event raised around £7000 for Help for Hero’s and Grace House Hospice. Tamzin then went on to represent the Northeast in the Miss England Pageant and fantastically claimed 4th place and won the title of ‘Best Talent’ due to her startling singing voice.

Miss Sunderland 2009

In May 2009 I decided to bring back the Miss Sunderland beauty pageant with a bang, all in aid of the Sunderland Foundation. Over 100 girls auditioned for the competition and were then narrowed down to 24 to go through to the final. The competition wasn’t like your regular beauty competition; it wasn’t just about the looks and glamour of the girls but about personality and their involvement with charity. We were also looking for someone who could represent Sunderland City. The final was held at the Stadium of Light and was sponsored by One Voice Productions and the Sunderland Echo.
